WIL Players Go Up

Spokane Sells First Baseman Wert to Seattle
SPOKANE, Sept. 25, 1951—Jim Wert, young first baseman for the Spokane Indians of the Western International League was sold Tuesday to the Seattle Rainiers of the Pacific Coast League.
Wert, 23, has spent two of his four years of professional ball with the Indians and during the season just over placed second in the league for runs-batted-in. He had a .325 batting average.

Beavers Recall Eight Players From Minor Leagues
PORTLAND, Sept. 25—The Portland Beavers of the Pacific Coast Baseball League have recalled eight players from the minor leagues.
Bill Mulligan, general manager, said the eight will report to spring training camp.
Players recalled include: Dick Bartle, first baseman with Salem of the Western International League; Don Pries, third baseman, Marv Diercks, outfielder, and John Tierney, pitcher, with Victoria of the W.I.L., Dick Waibel, pitcher with Idaho Falls of the Pioneer League; Bill Paine, pitcher, from Phoenix of the Southwest International League and Francis Chase and Ed Satalich, Las Vegas, S.I. League.
