Victoria - 15 Days Left

Fund To Save Baseball Starts in City Today
[Victoria Colonist, Jan. 17, 1952]
The Athletics’ Booster Club will begin accepting donations for the “Save Baseball Fund” at an office which will be opened in the Douglas Hotel this morning.
Donations may also be sent by certified cheque or money order to P.O. Box 1105.
Each $25 will purchase one share of Athletic stock. Donations will be held in trust by the A.B.C., which will later use the total to purchase stock.
Goal of the drive is $35,000, which will enable the A’s to pay off debts which must be cleared by Feb. 1 to enable them to operate this season.
Business manager Reg Patterson was optimistic last night that the drive will be a success. “My phone has rung continuously for three days,” he said.
Further information may be obtained by phoning G 4890.
