No Calgary or Edmonton in '52

Brown Would Invite Prairie Cities Into WIL
By DON CARLSON [Province, Nov. 15, 1951]
Vancouver Capilano General Manager R.P. Brown is willing to recommend the inclusion of Edmonton and Calgary in the Western International League to make it a ten-club circuit.
Brown made this disclosure Wednesday. He said he was prepared to make this recommendation to the WIL directorate “in another year.”
VOICED DESIRE
“At the WIL meeting in Victoria recently,” Brown said, “not only Calgary but Edmonton as well voiced a desire to join our league.
“Their chances of getting in eventually are good, not in 1952, but the following season. The time is too short for them for next year.
“I am prepared to recommend their joining. It would strengthen our league to have them as ninth and tenth teams.”
WOULD KNOW
Brown said that in another year, too, the league would know whether or not one of two of the present teams would be in a position to carry on.
