SALEM, June 15 — Victoria won both games in a Western International League doubleheader here Sunday, defeating Salem 1-0 in the opener and 5-3 in the nightcap.

SPOKANE, June 15—The Spokane Indians shoved across five runs in the fifth inning Sunday night to defeat the Wenatchee Chiefs 7-2 in the second game of a Western International League baseball doubleheader. The Chiefs took the afternoon game, 6-3.

KENNEWICK, June 16 [Vancouver Sun]—Vancouver Caps split a Western International League doubleheader with Tri-City Braves here Sunday, and return home still in third place, eight games back of the front-running Victoria Tyees.
But they had a victorious trip here last week, winning five games out of six. They have an off-day today, but celebrate the first anniversary of new Cap Stadium with a doubleheader against Salem Senators Tuesday.
First game goes at 7:15 p.m.
John (Bud) Guldborg won his seventh game against two losses in the second title Sunday, scattering seven hits for a 3-1 conquest.
He was robbed of a shut-out when John Kovenz and Nick Pesut singled in the eighth inning, driving home Des Charouhas, who had walked.
Veteran Bob Snyder lost the first game, 5-1, his third against two wins. He pitched well enough, but Tri-City batters bunched five hits and cashed in on three Vancouver errors.
Jim Keating joins the Caps tomorrow and may pitch one of the games. He may also see outfield duty since Edo Vanni and Jim Wert are both ailing.

LEWISTON, Idaho, June 15—The Lewiston Broncs and the Yakima Bears split two wild-scoring Western International League baseball games Sunday. The Bears routed the Broncs, 17-4, in the nightcap, and Lewiston smothered Yakima, 12~1, in the afternoon game.
